This class is for students who aspire to pursue a career related to ballet, whether as a dance or teacher. Professional class students will be taken into consideration in full-time training. Enrolment is by audition only.

Classes are based on the Vaganova method of classical ballet training, and includes pas de deux class, more competition coaching and stage performance opportunities on top of Russian Ballet Association Student's Certificate Examination training.

Students are required to fulfil a number of hours each week depending on the level. But they are encouraged to take more classes within the level if they can.

Primary

Age 9-12

The primary category is the first stage of Vaganova training method. It is a professional training system. Students will learn basic ballet vocabularies, arms, feet positions and body directions. This group develop students’ strength and flexibility, introducing the basic ballet concepts of arm and leg positions and across the floor to develop balance, rhythm, musicality and coordination. Basic pointe work will be introduced. The class also encourages freedom of expression and imagination. Students at this level focus on building their dance vocabulary and memory of steps, combinations and performance pieces.

Intermediate I

Age 12-15

The intermediate I category is a progression from the primary category. The is category introducing more advanced vocabularies in terms of barre work and center practice, more complexed turns and jumps. Class work will be more demanding and repetitive - designed to strengthen and build the correct use of muscles in the feet, legs and upper body. Students will start pointe work for classical repertoires.
